With this in mind I had the idea to try and re-certify but with a twist to help drive my studies and hold myself more accountable. This site is the vehicle in which I hope to achive this, with for the time being a two pronged approach. Firstly a once a week public update on how my studies are progressing and secondly a private side of the website to hold all of my study notes and diagrams (some of which might be shared at a later date).
Why RoadToCCIE.com?
Well I did consider stopping at CCNP but then where is the fun in that. As the domain was free I thought I might as well set my sights on the moon and aim for it.
So what resources and approach are you using?
Currently I hold an active INE subscription and a number of now dated CCNA and CCNP books. However my learning style has never really suited to book learning with practicals, video and instructor led learning playing more to my strong points (if anyone from Cisco Press reads this, audio book form content would be amazing!). As such I will start by leaning into the INE content and after each episode complete a test and a small blog write up on the key components/information convayed in each video. Further to that I will also note any practice lab notes/observations and configs to complete each problem. Again these lab configs and posts may become public at a later date, but for the time being will remain private.
